I decided to head up to Cairn Basin for an overnight last weekend. Arrived at Top Spur at 9:30 Saturday, it was pretty busy already. Just about everyone was heading to McNeil. I headed for Cairn, set up camp, and then took a little side trip up to McNeil.
Morning was foggy coming around Bald Mountain
It cleared up at the tarns below McNeil
Crossing Ladd was easy, I filled up water from the little creek off of Ladd. There's still some flowers!
Set up camp, with a view. Only a couple other groups were there for the night and it was quiet and peaceful.
Side trip up McNeil!
It was great weather, and the beargrass was going crazy along TT from little Ramona on.
Overall a great hike, the trails look great!
