Re: Early Summer Routes in Oregon's Northern Blue Mountains
Very nice! Thanks for sharing! I think that Sullivan's Eastern Oregon book is the one I've explored the least, but there are many tantalizing hikes that I would love to explore.

These look like great wilderness hikes, thanks for posting! Ninemile Ridge especially have been on my list for a while.
In all your hikes there, have you seen ticks up in that area?

I haven't seen ticks up there. They are probably up there, but I haven't met any yet!
Believe it or not, I barely ever ride a mountain bike.

This list is AMAZING!!! My husband and I just did an Eastern Oregon road trip, but didn't stop at any of these places (hung out mostly in the Strawberries and the Wallowas). We are thinking of doing an annual Oregon road trip, and we didn't get to see any of SE Oregon, so I'm thinking we add some of these hikes to break up that long drive.

When did you do the Lower Wenaha? I thought it was completely burned out now from Troy up for a ways.

I hiked it back in 2011. I had not heard about the fire. I'd say "that's too bad," but since it's the dry side, and probably needed to burn, I guess it's okay.drm wrote:When did you do the Lower Wenaha? I thought it was completely burned out now from Troy up for a ways.
