Lady Loowit sending off a little steam for Superbowl Sunday:

Joie and I had a weekend full of adventure capped off with a snowshoe trip up South Coldwater Ridge on Sunday. The drive out highway 504 was pretty incredible as the sun began to rise in the east:

There was quite a cloud show early on before the wind moved in and everything cleared up:

Down at the Hummocks and Coldwater Lake there wasn't any snow to speak of but we found some soon enough heading up South Coldwater :)

It was a special day to be outside with the person I love most :)

So special it felt like we could fly(well Joie did)

Heading up the ridge after Jojo:

Looking back to Jojo now:

Conditions over at Windy Pass:

The clouds had a tough time getting past Windy Ridge:

St Helens even scored a touchdown:

Joie did her usual mid hike hair commercial:

We just sat back and watched the show for a couple hours before turning around:

Mt Minnie was in top form as well:

I see you packed your flux capacitor. ;)

Anyway, I wasn't familiar with Mt Minnie. Looks like some good climbing routes there.

Nice man, thanks for the report. Good to see what conditions look like up there.

Snowshoes don't even seem needed huh??

Cool pics! Joie does have some epic hair! :) How far did you have to hike to get where you went?

Great pics and looked like a perfect day! How far were you able to drive up? Where did your hike start and turn around? I'd like to do that one!

Thanks all. We went up about 3 - 3 1/2 miles including the road walk from the Hummocks TH. We wouldn't have needed snowshoes to get that far but if we had wanted to go much higher we would have needed them.

Hey stew, Spirit Lake highway is closed near the Hummocks TH just past the turnoff for Coldwater Lake. Park at the Hummocks Th and walk the road past the gate until you reach the South Coldwater TH.
