Octuple Dog Mountain

Post by tschalpi » February 1st, 2016, 4:22 pm

On Sat, Jan 30, 2016, I decided to do hill reps on the Dog Mountain Loop Hike. I managed to do 8 loops in 17:20:06. The total mileage was 8 × 7.4 = 59.2mi with 22,400ft of elevation gain. As you can imagine, there was some discomfort involved in this challenge.

As was commented on my Facebook post, a group had previously done 9 climbs in 24h.

That is amazing. Personally I always feel pretty awesome when I achieve 1 round of Dog even though I've done longer and higher hikes. Congratulations!

Four things come to mind:

1) You must consider a working set of knees to be over-rated.
2) You're an idiot.
3) You're a trail god. Congratulations on an achievement that I am too puny (and smart) not to copy.
4) So, is Denali in a day going to be your next hike?

OMG, That is just totally awesome. You have doubled my all-time best EG. You rock! (And I'm never going to hike with you - at least until you are at least 70.)
