Beautiful photos of such a gorgeous place!
Not this summer! Water had to be 70°+ when we were up there a few weeks ago.kelkev wrote:A swim in Bays Lake is mighty chilly if I do recall.....brrr!!

Cheryl, those are some very awesome photos!!! What type of camera are you using? Have you ever considered opening up a gallery? And what about your book on Fire Lookouts. When is your publishing date?
Hiking is never about the destination, it's about the adventure!!!

Exceptionally nice photos! I love that area and hope to get back soon. BTW, I hiked out to Park Butte last year and there is a good bootpath for most of the way. It is just over the edge of the ridgeline on the west side. In a couple of places it drops over to the east side though.
I'm not to happy about a permit system but I agree the area is getting more visitors than it can stand and keep any semblance of pristine. Funny, though, when there last year in the last week of July, I only saw a couple of other folks.

Bah...not to sure how the new permit requirement will help...sounds like they will not limit the amount of permits issued.

Thanks! I use a Nikon D90 with a 18-105mm lens. I just take photos for fun. It is REALLY hard to make money as a landscape photographer, plus I don't think it would be fun anymore if my livelihood depended on it. Fire Lookouts of Oregon has been submitted to the publisher and although I don't have a pub date yet, I expect it will be out in December or January. You're right, Jerry! This could indeed pose a problem!retired jerry wrote:
