Not all hikes have to be hard... And this is about as un-hard as you can get. But I did want to get some kayak play time in too and not drive for hours and hours. So off to Trillium Lake. And with one lane getting thru on 26 in both directions for a nice surprise getting there just after 8am. Breezy days you really need to get there early for the nice reflection of Mt Hood. That would be this one..
Getting the two mile flat loop started from the day use area and getting distracted by a lot of this..
Getting totally snubbed by the locals.. Elitists..
Got the sly sideways glance (like, hey...got any food?) from one of them..
Early morning calminess...
Mt Hood in the lily pads..
The usual boggy Trillium Lake meadow..
Even had a worn path thru it that didn't really appear to be leading anywhere..
The last gasp of the flowers..
Still a few bees working hard..
With Mt Hood..
Out in the water even..
Mt Hood from mid-lake about noonish..
Beaver lodge. There are three of them scattered along the west (non-campground/day use) side...
It's kind of hard to see since I couldn't get a good angle while floating but there's a couple underwater channels that lead into the lodge..
I just have to dedicate this to everyone at work inside today..
And a last look to wrap things up..

They email me a dollar every time they show one... Still some glitches in that system though...Splintercat wrote:Nice report (and feet), Gene! I saw one of these on the Channel 12 news the other night, if I'm not mistaken..!
