Cannon Beach and Crescent Beach 11/28

Post by romann » November 30th, 2013, 6:40 pm

Family hike on the ocean on Turkey Day. We hit low tide - went around Chapman Point to Crescent Beach on dry ground! It's been very warm, calm and sunny day, and surprisingly few people north of Ecola Creek. Can't believe it's almost exactly 12 months since I last went to the ocean :o

Lots of sea stars and anemones on the rocks

The waves came around this rock (on the right) and went through that little arch. It was cool to watch

I didn't get a good picture of it, but there's a small beach right at the end of Chapman Point (only accessible in low tide) with a cave

Did I say there were few people? Quite surprising for a last nice weather day on a holiday.

More people near Haystack Rock, of course. That thing is big!

Thanks, Roman - some really nice photos in that mix! I really like that last shot. Great time to be at the coast... little known fact! (though you do have to pick the days between storms, of course).

Thanks for posting!

Tom :)
