I think logged out refers to trail maintenance.

Indian Heaven - you can get within ~3 miles to Thomas Lake trailhead, almost to 3800' where snow blocks the road.

Yes, trail maintenance logged out, the good kind :mrgreen:

Strangely though, the maintenance was being done by a guy on a dirt bike. Dirt bikes are not allowed on the surveyors ridge trail, no motorized vehicle. I questioned his riding on surveyors, and I was obviously upset about it. He said he was contracted by the FS to do the trail work so I relented. Still seems really strange though :?

Is that via the 65 road (Panther Creek)? The FS website says it is still blocked and that you need the other route from the Wind River Rd.

I went via Wind River Rd (Rd 30) over Oldman Pass, and then right on #6507.

Will try to post trip report in a couple days.
