Strangely though, the maintenance was being done by a guy on a dirt bike. Dirt bikes are not allowed on the surveyors ridge trail, no motorized vehicle. I questioned his riding on surveyors, and I was obviously upset about it. He said he was contracted by the FS to do the trail work so I relented. Still seems really strange though

Is that via the 65 road (Panther Creek)? The FS website says it is still blocked and that you need the other route from the Wind River Rd.

I went via Wind River Rd (Rd 30) over Oldman Pass, and then right on #6507.

Will try to post trip report in a couple days.
