Hi All!
So I'm doing a large-ish research project on the Eagle Creek Fire, part of which involves a qualitative study of the personal impacts it had on nearby Gorge users, residents, and other stakeholders. If you'd be willing to fill out a brief survey - 10 or so questions, all of which are optional - it would be an enormous help. You can find the survey here.
A bit of background about me, just in case it helps: I finished a PhD in political science and philosophy last year, and have since been doing research on the relationship between humans and the natural environment, with an emphasis on the place of wilderness in our cultural and economic lives. I am not affiliated with any official organizations in the Gorge.
Thanks in advance, and please don't hesitate to get in touch - either here, or by email (barklisr [at] gmail.com) - if you have any questions or concerns.

Really, anyone who's interacted with the affected portion of the Gorge at all - Portland Metro or otherwise.retired jerry wrote:anyone that lives in Portland metro area that visits the gorge?
Ha, thanks! It was really just inertia.retired jerry wrote:PhD in political science and philosophy? Nice work!

Done! Good luck with the project. Are these data for personal interest or is this more scholarly? It's cool either way, but I'm just curious. I'm part of a faculty group that is involved in climate change education and am pondering how to get some climate change/environmental research going. It's way outside of my usual program so it's been slow going and on the drawing board forever. At least I was able to be a participant in your research - surely that counts for something

Done! Great questions!

Excellent, thanks sgyoung and UTurn!
Scholarly. My training is in political science and philosophy, and this is sort of an extension of that. The ultimate goal is a book, though that's very far away.sgyoung wrote:Are these data for personal interest or is this more scholarly?

Done... will we see your study, once it is complete?
Re: Eagle Creek Fire Survey
Thanks, and absolutely! This is part of a much bigger project, but I'll definitely make the sections that come out of this freely available.MarkInTheDark wrote:Done... will we see your study, once it is complete?

Strangely, my personal inertia leads me to less impressive endeavors.RobinB wrote:Ha, thanks! It was really just inertia.
