Uber / Lyft North Oregon Coast?

Post by Guy » September 18th, 2017, 10:51 am

Anyone know if Uber or Lyft are available along the North Oregon Coast? With so much of the Gorge likely shut down for the winter I'm thinking of day hiking sections of the Coast trail this Fall and Winter. This would be much easier if I could get an Uber back to the car after a 10 -15 mile one way day hike.

Any thoughts?

Not sure about Uber/Lyft, but you might also check out local bus service in the area as an alternate. Catch the morning bus out and hike back to your car. I did something similar a couple years back when backpacking the coastal trail through Samuel Boardman State Park down in southern OR. The Coastal Express bus was a staggering $4/person. They were efficient, uncrowded & on time. Rules might vary between services, but Coastal Express allows whistle-stops anywhere along Hwy 101 that they could pull off safely. Great resource for hiking down that way.
