What should I plan ahead for or start reserving for 2017?

The roads into the area are like what I encountered on the altiplano of South America . They have a lot of rocks in the roads. They have so many rocks there are miles and miles of rock walls. They have so many rocks they have built chapels for the looks like "Jesus or Virgin Mary" rocks. Has the road into the area improved?

The roads to Whitewater and South Breitenbush are fine. The road to Breitenbush Lake (PCT/Park Ridge approach) is third-world.

• Feb. 15 - March 1: apply for Enchantments lottery
• March 14: find out I didn't win Enchantments lottery
• March 15 - March 31: apply for Wonderland permit
• Mid-April: find out I didn't get Wonderland permit

Plenty of nice places to go without permits, though: most of the Alpine Lakes and Glacier Peak, Mount Hood and most of the Three Sisters, the Wallowas...
