Okay, so these are not actually hiking pictures. This is what I've been living with since the beginning of December and it is still coming down.

Waffle Stomper: We must have been on the TRNWR trail at nearly the same time. Except for the coot eating the grass photo, I thought you had somehow gotten copies of my photos. I had three great walks in the refuge that week in the snow: more wildlife than people.

Sadly, the refuge is flooded and the trails are closed at this time, reminiscent of December 2015...just not as deep.

It's easy to capture similar shots, especially when there are so few days to to be on the refuge. I went to the refuge yesterday, thinking they would be open by now but they weren't, still flooded.

So, still no trail time for me. Thought I'd add a few shots from the Klamath Falls refuge complex.

I call him Blondie. Rumor has it he is over 10 years old. I wish he wasn't on a telephone pole, but this will have to do.

I was "hoppy" to see other wildlife as well.

Butterfingers, or should I call him butter talons? There were plenty of others willing to snag a fresh duck for lunch with this eagle needing to go hunting again.

A reminder of the geologic history of the area.

Looks like how the weather's been at my house! ENOUGH ALREADY - I'm glad we got so much water, but I'm ready for some warm weather hiking!
