Well this picture might not have been taken in Oregon, but on our recent backpacking vacation in Alaska, we were treated to a night time light show in the sky.
I was only hoping for the clouds to clear so I could get a star picture, and didn't expect this.
Denali State Park.... If there were no clouds, it would have been Denali in the background.
We paid for it all the next day when we were drenched by a steady rain.

There's been a few solar flares as of late, I think that one was a KP 8.
Too bad we were covered in smoke/haze here, as there was a possibility to see one like that from Mt. Rainier north last week.

I am having trouble uploading photos. Anyone have any help for me. I tried uploading them. I also tried hosting them on a website with no luck.

uploading - files have to be less than 2 MB - click "choose file", then "add file", then put cursor where you want the picture in your text and click "place inline"
