This last Saturday (May 20th), I was on the south side of Mt St Helens, at the Marble Mtn Sno-Park (again). The gate is still closed on the 83 road. There are increasing patches of bare pavement out towards the June Lake TH, but generally there is about 2 feet of snow on the road. The wacko snowmobilers are still going, scraping their skis on the pavement.
I finally got to the summit of little peak 3537 (the first summit to the south of the Sno-Park). The road was about 99% snow covered, with 4 to 5 feet just below the summit. The summit ridge was almost bare, because of the winds blowing it off.
