At 24,000 kilometers (15,000 miles) in length, the TCT — the Trans Canada Trail — will open in 2017 as the planet’s longest “trail” network, in Canada.
How would the loop part going thru the Yukon and NW Territories be even doable on foot in one trip?

Indeed, while the United States builds "The Wall" to divide people, Canada continues to build "The Great Trail" to unite people.

That's huge! And awesome!
We could so something similar with a PCT -> PNT -> something to the Great Lakes -> AT (south to Georgia).
I'm not sure what trail/s you might take from Glacier NP east to get over to the AT but I'm sure there is something.

That is a very large lollipop loop heading north from Edmonton!
Re: the Trans Canada Trail, worlds longest trail
Skurka did a hike he titled the great Western loop that was pct to pnt to cdt to some Arizona and nm trails. It's probably similar in length to this, and maybe a bit more scenic.

Keep in mind that this trail includes water trails - travel by canoe or whatever - as well as lots of what we would call rails-to-trails. I looked for some stat on what percentage was water trail and did not find an answer.
