Re: 2016 Snow Level Thread
Maybe 3-5" of crusty and icy snow (and roads!) at Trillium Lake today. That's around 4,300 feet, I think?

Larch Mountain - 11/21/15
A dusting at the junction with the road, 2 mi before the summit. Ground was mostly frozen after this.
None on the summit itself.

So much for Christmas in July, huh? Talk about jurassic El Nino bringing lots of snow!
I've been wandering early and late, from New York City to the Golden Gate, and it don't look like I'll ever stop my wandering.

Frog Lakes Butte yesterday: around 6" at the TH (3900') up to almost 30" (at 5000') in spots. Granular powder.

Someone went 4-wheeling @ Four Corners yesterday (jct. of roads #60 and 65 at about 2800', SW of Indian Heaven) and showed me video of big trucks getting stuck. There's at least 3 feet of snow right now.

A few inches starting around 2000' above Angel's Rest on Saturday. I'm guessing there's more now

Looks like a good start to the snow year:

Dec 26, 2015:
Today I was on two trails around 1500 feet. The western was bare; the eastern was spotty snow, but no need for gaiters.
Regarding roads: Just above the Ripplebrook ranger station (around 1400'?) the well-traveled roads are easily passable (maybe plowed?) but the side roads are dicey (fine for 4WD vehicles; passenger cars might struggle).
Dec 26 was the best weather day we've had in a long time, but it was just a one-day break. By the time you read this, it's possible the snow level has dropped.
