Nope, not Avalanche Lillies.

The flowers are very very small.
Maybe about the height of Fairy Slippers.

They are all over the place though, especially near the S. Breitenbush Trail and those meadows.

Marsh Marigolds if I'm not mistaken. I remember seeing tons of them on the South Breitenbush Trail as it nears Jefferson Park, the stretch before the ford of the outlet of Russell Lake. Of course that was in early July, with melting snow patches after a "typical" snowy winter! :)

Yep, I think you might have nailed it Kelkev. Those marsh marigolds look right. Same color pattern. Very cool little flowers since they grow in mass it seems.

Yep, lots of White Marsh Marigolds by Russell Lake. These photos are from May 30th.

Bay's Lake looked about the same as Scout Lake.

There are plenty of campsites that are melted out if you don't like camping on snow.

And there were hardly any mosquitoes. I got a few bites while I was sleeping but hardly noticed them otherwise.

Dang, Kal! Love all your pics but make sure you submit that fourth one for the calendar this year. Talk about superb composition!

Wow, the lakes have melted a lot just in the past week.
Especially Scout Lake.
