I thought it was a Spring tradition as the snow melts.

Going up Wyeth yesterday, cutting over to the Greenpoint Plateau, and then coming down Nick Eaton...
Just started hitting snow about 3200'.
2-3" in openings, but only 1-2" under trees, around 4000'.
4-6" around 4400'.

Hiked from the gate to the top of Sherrard Point. No snow at the gate. Snow started 3300ish. 3 inches at the top but the forecast is for more snow in the coming days.

Took a drive yesterday to check out snow levels on local roads. Ran into falling snow at Dog River TH, roads were covered by Routson Park. Here's pictures taken through cracked windshield as I couldn't keep the lens dry. First up Little John snow park.
Then Tamanawas parking lot. Then it was on up the unplowed Cloud Cap road. It was very pretty everywhere. This was my morning wake up this morning at 1535'. It's building up fast here.Re: 2015 Snow Level Thread
Gov't Camp yesterday had periods of heavy snow. Snow depth in the trees varied from 6-10". We were the first tracks in places on Sunday morning.

Re: 2015 Snow Level Thread
things are looking pretty bad right now (yes, we all like snow free hiking above 4k in January but we kinda/sorta need the snow melt later this year...forecast for nearly 60 and sunny this weekend )

Don't get our hopes up
plenty of time for major snow in Febuary and March
if my rooting for low snow actually affected the amount that falls, I'de reluctantly root for more snow
