Google Trail View

Post by kaltbluter » September 9th, 2016, 7:12 am

I was trying to use Google street view to verify that a trailhead was still where my map said it should be. Unfortunately, not many of the streets in Oakridge have street view data.

I did notice that someone has been recording data on a bunch of trails in the area. I've never been to Diamond Creek Falls in the summer but now I can Virtual Hike it.

Dead Mountain, Alpine Trail, Larison Rock and some others have street view too.

I started looking more and there are a bunch of trails around Eugene that have been recorded.

Hey, this is great! Now people don't have to go out in nature and vandalize stuff.
