Jerry, you're doing a terrific job of keeping the rain away! :)

But if the airport measuring spot stays dry, the rain doesn't count.. :P

I am bummed

According to http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobe ... aw=0&dbn=m

0.06 inches of rain at PDX on August 1

I was afraid of that. I was at beach. Wife said on phone there was some sprinkles on the patio.

So much for the 2013 consecutive days without rain record

Time to start looking forward to 2014...

Now I'm wondering when the big snows are going to start!

Seems like early wetness in the area...

Thankfully it rained in July so I'm not agonizing about this rain :)

I predict there will be lots of nice weather in September and October :)

My b-day is Aug 29 there are lot of years there is measurable precipitation at this time. I once read a book about the man who was the first to climb many new routes on the Cascade volcanoes.

He noted in his book in the late 18,00's till early 19,00's he noticed a definite wet spell in the last week of Aug that was constant year after year?

Predicating nice weather in the next few weeks is kind of no brainer

It would just be a shame if someone saw all this rain and figured the summer's over and not plan any trips :)
