Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness - Plaza Lake rafts retrieved

Post by miah66 » September 15th, 2016, 7:19 am

"gratefultrails" and I hiked into Plaza Lake and removed two large inflatable rafts from the shoreline. They were bulky and heavy, and we traveled from Old Baldy trail (10 mi RT), so we weren't able to pack them all the way out. We hauled them up the Plaza trail and left them at the trailhead in trash bags on the side of the 4610 Abbott Rd. If someone has a vehicle that can brave the road, they can retrieve them. Two 10 gallon trash bags contain one raft, and the other raft is folded up beside them.

Thanks for hauling them out as far as you did. Hopefully someone can drive up there and grab them.

It amazes (and discourages) me that people are willing to carry in heavy items like chairs and rafts, but then can't be bothered to haul them out!
