Anybody experience the site being flaky lately

Post by retired jerry » October 24th, 2017, 6:44 pm

It keeps making me login again

Sometimes the site is unavailable

Sometimes "unread posts" returns "search unavailable"

No big thing, minor annoyance, curious if it's just me

I've had site unavailable 3 or 4 times over the past couple of months but nothing else.

Sounds like you have cookies disabled. That would explain why you keep needing to login. And not being logged in causes "unread posts" to return "search unavailable".

It worked okay a while ago, so the cookies were enabled. I think if I even disabled cookies accidentally since, it should still work.

It has the error message about search after I've logged in. I'll have to verify that just to make sure.

It's possible my PC recently upgraded to a new version of something.

I take it no one else is experiencing this.

Perhaps you cleared your cache recently? Most browsers also clear cookies when you clear the cache. Some of those freebie “clean your PC” programs do this.

thanks

maybe there was one hickup, then when I logged back in I didn't check the login automatically box, so it constantly asks me, but now I fixed that

not to worry...
