after a new version of chrome automatically installed, it doesn't let me log in at all. Says I have specified an incorrect username. So I just use Internet Explorer for oh.org, chrome for everything else.

I'd suggest tossing your cookies...

Or do you maybe have a password manager extension that is overwriting something you are doing?

You could test it in an incognito window (Ctrl-Shift-N)

incognito window works the same - says it's not a valid username

no password manager

stopped working when a new version of Chrome automatically installed

doesn't matter, IE works

maybe someday a new, new version of Chrome will automatically install and it'll start working again

Guy's suggestion about using the 'back' button has worked well for me. Usually I time out on the BB before I finish writing my post, but hitting 'back' usually allows me to recover what I've written.

When I'm writing a long trip report, I write in MS Word and paste into the text box of the BB.

There is a catch: italics, bold type, and white space management don't carry from MS Word to BB code. These must be added in the bulletin board window. You can use a "*" or "-" where you want a blank line--which is why some of my TR's have a lot of "*" in them.

And then you can save the MS word version--I usually do so in the folder containing the photos in the report.
I keep making protein shakes but they always turn out like margaritas.

I have 44.0.2403.125 m

Maybe it has something to do with the Vista I have :)

I should get a new computer with Windows 10

I think my laptop is 10 years old which is well beyond a reasonable lifetime. It doesn't have enough memory or hard disk space.

I'm only hearing fanboi reasons for moving to W10 right now. Everyone else seems to be having very negative to slightly negative experiences with it.

The wife installed Windows 10 - working fine, but not much different than previous version. It easily installed and preserved previous stuff. Same with her friend.
