Some Posts Remain "Unread"?

Post by kepPNW » January 6th, 2016, 10:14 am

Why is it that certain member's posts remain "unread" even after they're read? For example, it doesn't matter how many times I click on one of Tom's posts, unless/until there's a response from a regular forum member they don't clear themselves from the "View unread posts" query.

I'm not sure but you could try clicking "Mark forums read" to reset everything.

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that it's a "global announcement."

Seems I tried that once, and it didn't make a difference. Maybe I'll go delete my "fix" and see if I can resurface the post, then sink it with that tool...

I think that may be the key. It's happened on others similarly marked, but I don't believe on those without that tag.

Looks like deleting is no longer an option, but I suspect (if past patterns hold), if Tom makes another reply to that thread it will again become "permanently" unread.
