The field guide directions to the North Siouxon Trailhead are from the north, but we went in from the south. S-1000 is washed out at the junction with S-1130. Continuing on Healy Road (54) another ~1.8 miles past the S-1000 junction there is a connector road on the left (number?) This is shown on the WA DNR map, although the map does not show the road closure.

Google maps shows the "new" route.
(Don't know if this is the proper forum for a road report.)
S-1000 Road Closure
Re: S-1000 Road Closure
Kathy,
That end of S1000 has been washed out for several years now. I wish that the DNR would update their map, it wouldn't take but a couple of minutes to add a note there. Glad you found the connector.
For those not familiar with this road, it is the second left turn possible after crossing Canyon Creek, and has a big yellow gate, that I have never seen closed. I suppose it is there to enforce closures because of extreme fire danger.

Re: S-1000 Road Closure
If anyone wants to send me detailed directions from the south, I can put them in the Field Guide. I'm sticking with directions from the north because that's the sure thing.
