Went out there today and it's closed. The bridge is being replaced.

More info: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/parks/69784

I got an account here hoping to post the info somewhere. It's not on the wiki for the trail or the trail head. I'd checked both before heading out.

I am going to try going back out tomorrow from Upper Macleary.

Thanks!

Macleay :)

It seems like you could cross that stream without a bridge?

I like going from Lower MaCleay up to Pittock Mansion, or go up to that water tower for a bit more elevation gain. Good training hike.

You can try, but it's also fenced off :)

For added fun, some of the detour/closure maps and signs out on the trails are wrong. Upper Macleay is also partially closed, even though the signs there say it's not. I walked about 20 feet down the trail and ran into more chain link fence. This was my second try to go re-photograph Stone House. I guess I'll try access from Holman Lane trailhead next week.

You can still hike to Pittock Mansion from the upper trailhead, though.

Lower Macleay is now open.

@Dorkvania, fyi, the Field Guide is not an open wiki. For single corrections, just post here although we may not update for very temporary closures. If you're interested in consistently adding new information to the FG, you can PM me.

Lower Macleay opened this past Wednesday. The connector from the Stone House to Cornell is closed now with a new bridge going in. Made for a really short run last week when I didn't know this...
