What gear do you wish existed?

Post by arlohike » January 21st, 2018, 9:21 pm

My car beeps if I start driving without the hatchback fully latched. I was thinking today that I'd like a backpack with a similar warning beep, for when I pick it up and start walking while the main zipper is still open. :D

Have you ever imagined some new hiking gear or gadget that you wish existed?

It someone leaves their plastic bag with dog poop in it, on top of their car, as they start to drive away it should beep at them, before it falls off and lands on the ground :)

A rain jacket that repels moisture reliably and for long periods of time but also can be inflated slightly if you need extra insulation. And it should be incredibly durable but lightweight...

Anything that is breathable and truly waterproof.

I'd like to see plastic dog poop bags that EXPLODE when set down on the side of the trail, creating a literal shitstorm for their litterbug owners.

anti-gravity pods. sell them in 5lb increments. they can take up as much volume as a nalagene bottle, but smaller would be better.

I love it. You could keep adding them until your backpack has a negative weight!

Good as the exploding poop bags sound, if I had only one wish I'd be with Don, begging for WPBness.
