Overview: This trail begins in the town of Mosier, follows Mosier Creek through the community’s Pocket Park and then ends up on Mosier Plateau, which is owned by Friends of the Columbia Gorge Land Trust. This trail is part of Gorge Towns to Trails project, a comprehensive trail system that wraps around the Columbia Gorge, linking communities with recreation. The trail was completed in the summer 2013 with numerous partners and volunteers.

Project description: TKO has been approached to help in the maintenance and enhancement of the existing trail. Reestablishing trail tread and building drainage features to improve the hiking experience.

Hiking information: In the time since its official opening to the public in Fall 2013, this short hike on Friends of the Columbia Gorge land has become very popular. There is plenty of parking near the railroad tracks in Mosier, and you need to walk 1,000 feet across the Mosier Creek Bridge to find the beginning of the trail. You’ll pass the pioneer cemetery and then Mosier Creek Falls, a popular summer swimming hole. The wildflower meadows on the plateau are spectacular in April and May, but the vistas are superb all year.

What to expect: You should expect to work rain or shine on a fully developed trail. Expect intermittent, rainy weather, so bring layered clothing and rain gear as the day proceeds.

What to bring: Bring a lunch and plenty of water, and snacks as desired. Also bring good work gloves, supportive boots, and rain gear as indicated by the weather forecast.

What to wear:

Boots (tennis shoes are not recommended)
Long sleeved shirts recommended
Rain gear as appropriate for the weather
Eye protection is recommended (eye glasses, safety glasses, etc.)
TKO will supply hard hats and safety glasses
Directions: From I-84, take Exit #69/Mosier. Follow the Historic Columbia River Highway into town. Pull into the parking area just past the Mosier totem pole located mid-town on left/north side of road. Park between Hwy 30 and the railroad tracks. TKO crew leaders will meet you here. Do not park at the Mosier Senior Center - your vehicle will be towed.
