Post by drm » October 18th, 2017, 3:13 pm

The Friends of Mount Adams is presenting a free public lecture, "Rare Carnivores of Mt. Adams" on Thursday, November 9th, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the White Salmon Community Library Meeting Room, 77 NE Wauna Ave. (Town Square) in White Salmon, WA. The speakers are Jocelyn Akins, PhD. from Hood River, and Jeffrey Lewis, PhD from Olympia. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Jocelyn is founder of the Cascade Carnivore Project of Washington and Oregon and Jeff is a state wildlife biologist. They will focus on their year-round field studies of the Cascade red fox and fisher, but they will also discuss research on other species, including wolverines.

Jocelyn's research was funded in part by a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada; and Jeff's by the Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources
