Join us Saturday, July 1 for a work party to pull invasive star thistle from Coyote Wall just west of The Labyrinth. This weed is spreading east toward the Catherine Creek wildflower area. Sign up and get details at the website for Friends of the Gorge:

When we did this event last year we pulled out 300 pounds of star thistle, but we were only able to take out about a sixth of what we need to address. If you've never done a volunteer event such as this, nothing else matches the sense of accomplishment from making a visible change to a landscape.
