OldFart new to the group

Post by OldFart » March 11th, 2018, 9:36 pm

Hi Everyone! I'm OldFart, mostly because I tend to work in around people in their 20s and 30s. That and the majority of the hikers seem to be younger than me. ;)

I joined because I've gotten a lot of value just peeking in on trail reports over the years and thought I should contribute. My son's boy scout troop is getting ready for a 12-day trek in New Mexico and I thought I could contribute with my own trail reports as we condition ourselves.

Hope to see everyone out there!

welcome! that NM trip is going to be awesome. what an incredible state. Really spectacular and under the radar (relatively) outdoors there. Huge variety like in Oregon.

Is the troop going to Philmont, or elsewhere?

Welcome,

Always good to read another perspective on hiking around here.

If you have a son in the scouts, pretty certain that you are considerably younger than a good many of us that participate here! (my son is 46, daughter is 38)
