All the way from Omaha!

Hi everybody!
I saw there was a place to get intros out of the way and luckily there are at least a couple of out of towners lurking so I'm not the only one.
Why Oregon? My wife would like to visit Crater Lake, so I'm building a trip with that and a few other goals in mind. I'll be starting a thread in Q&A soon.
Oh, what got us started hiking? Labor Day weekend 2016 we took a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Explored one of my favorite National Parks in the Badlands and then made our way to Spearfish. The trails and the views in Spearfish were our first venture into hiking (I grew up in Vermont, so hiking wasn't foreign to me) and we LOVED it. Now, I try to build our vacations around incredible views and even better hikes. I hear Oregon has some and I hear Oregon has some.
