Hi all. Just discovered this forum while searching for good directions for the 14+ mile hike from Todd Lake to Broken Top Summit.
My wife and I moved to Bend from New York a year ago, and have been avidly hiking, mt. biking, skiing, snow shoeing, and paddling the Central Oregon Cascades. We climbed South Sister a few weeks ago, did several hikes since, and we will be going up Broken Top tomorrow. An avid ADK hiker, I am used to really great guide books with lots of details. The few books I do have and a lot of the trail signs don't always give clear directions and distances. I am a serious amateur photographer and I take my Fuji X-T1 with 14 mm and 18-135mm lenses with me. If anyone is interested in seeing any of my photos, many of which are taken on these day trips, look me up on Instagram. I am also Rs6er there.
Attached shot is my wife climbing the scree on South Sister.

Welcome to Oregon and to the forum!
There is a glut of Oregon hiking books out there, but I find that William Sullivan's 100 Hikes series of hiking books are an excellent resource for directions and information. The directions are clear and the maps are good. He goes through and updates each book every 5-7 years or so.
