My name is Rusty, I'm 31 and live in Beaverton. I grew up in the Southern California desert and did a lot of hiking with my father and brother in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Mojave Desert and Big Bear Mountain as a youngster. I moved to Oregon in 2001 when I got stationed here while serving in the US Coast Guard. Recently, my wife and I have got back into hiking and want to take advantage of what the Northwest has to offer. I love hiking the Gorge and Central Oregon. My fondest hikes were with my father in the Sierra Nevada Mountains through the giant Sequoia trees and large meadows. I have limited backpacking experience and plan to hone my skills as I gain more experience. I'm always open to hike with friends and learn what I can.
