This is where a description of this short but sweet hike might be.
Lots of wildlife sign.
It was fun.
There was a light sprinkle, and some stones were not mossy or slick, or unstable for that matter.
Went up from the middle of the north part of the parking lot at the Bowl. Got to the ridge just north of the last buidling on the ridge.
"Dropped in" right before the popular lookout spot if coming up the trail from the highway.
Route picking in these conditions is always fun, and the snow and ice feels safer for this area.
Hooked up with the trail once down at the lakeside.

Totally snow covered after the popular lookout spot?

Re: Tom Dick Ridge
I once did an autumn hike near MSH and was amazed at how many tracks there were in the snow, in every direction. Then I realized that there are ALWAYS that many animals running around in the summer/fall, we just don't see the evidence!retired jerry wrote:Yeah, snow is nice in that you can see wildlife tracks better
