Vision Quest Pits off Wyeth, Apr 15, 2017
Re: Vision Quest Pits off Wyeth, Apr 15, 2017
The top of the rockfield near the pits is probably the single best viewpoint on Wyeth. I've visited it a couple of times - once coming up from Shellrock (very brushy) and another time via Lindsey Ridge.

Need an excuse? Spin the wheel! (I'm convinced this is how gov't appropriations process actually works + inelastic demand).

Next time, snag a coupon book. I bought one before the tolls went up; 20 tickets for $15, plus free passage that day. They're intended for locals who cross frequently, while sticking it to the tourists. (They may have raised the price to $20?)northridge wrote:Funny. After our hike we also headed to the WA side to get some route photos and I scrounged around to find $1.00 worth of change for the BOTG. The attendant looked at me funny when she counted out only $1.00 and told me it was now $2.00!pablo wrote:I went over to Washington side for a wrap photo on which I've marked the highlights. ($2.00 x 2 for crossing Bridge of the Gods - I thought that thing was paid for already)

Yes, it's $20 for 20 coupons now, as I noted three posts above yours, but now a $1.00 savings per use rather than $0.25!

Cool outing! The one time I climbed Wyeth trail (w/ KepNW) I recall coming across a really neat cairn (I hate cairns) up near the jct w/ the Gorton Creek trail. It was really large, offtrail, and looked pretty old. No views on that day, though we did hit snow and came across Jack's size 15(?)(!) footprints.
