Chip, I took this photo yesterday of Saddle from the river. The middle peak was slightly obscured in the clouds later on it came out I observed even steeper terrain coming off it on your route near the top. Its a grainy photo, but really shows the difficulty in elevation loss/gain over the relatively short distance...

Fascinating picture.
I'm amazed at how easy the descent from East to the East/Easter saddle appears, compared to the much lower saddle between East and the highest/western summit. Just shaking my head in disbelief at that. Gaining the East summit took maybe 20-30 minutes from the saddle...again, hard to imagine from the picture. Looks like it would take so much longer.
Mountains are weird. :|
