Re: Herman-Casey-Nick Eaton Loop 2-12-11. Oh My.

LOL - what a great trip report! I'm doing this hike tomorrow and thought I'd get some input on what to expect. I felt the same way I did after reading a hike description of Ruckel Ridge. Any hike description that can make me laugh that hard is a hike I have to do, even 6 years later!

Re: GoalTechHikes Mitchell Pt/Wygant Peak/Chetwoot Loop...al

wsevert I was looking at your GPS track and it looked like when you reached the water on the Chetwoot that you went upstream a bit. Did the trail go up that far or were you just exploring up-creek? It looked pretty beautiful down there. I was tempted to bushwhack to see it but was getting tired of ...

Thanks, my bad!

Nice trip report. I really enjoyed the sunrise photos! We did the Chetwoot Trail in December and it took us a few hours to get across that slide. There were so many downed trees to get through that we were lucky sometimes to make 10 ft of progress per minute. I figured it will only get worse so I wa...

You're the man, Don! I heard it was going to rain so stayed home with my tail between my legs. I'm such a loser! :) Great photos!

Nice trip report and great photos! I wish I had been a hiker when I lived in Southern Oregon back in the 80's. I love hikes that have a nice destination like the cabin you visited.

It's all a matter of perspective. On the other side of the gate there are no signs at all and if they really meant it they'd post signs on that side too, right?

Re: Four Ski Interludes, Part I: Skiing Powell Butte

Some of the trails had been covered by ATV tracks. I don't know who thought that was a good idea (it doesn't seem likely that it was Park personnel, right?). The tracks weren't that bad, though. I was up there a few days ago (the 12th) playing in the snow and saw 3 ATV's buzzing around the trails. ...

Re: 2017 - A Lookback at Your Hiking Numbers

2016 was a good year. 259 hikes 2,107 miles 390,780 ft cumulative elevation gain I also did 568 miles on my bicycle with another 13,188 ft of gain but since this is a hiking forum, those don't count. :) It's always tough coming up with a favorite hike because every hike is my favorite hike but doing...
