Description
Between 1944 and 1974, Weyerhaeuser operated a private logging road between Molalla and Canby in order to transport logs to the Willamette River. Once the logs reached the Willamette, they were formed into rafts that floated down the river to the Columbia, and thence downstream to the big mill in Longview, Washington. Here there are still the remains of a gantry for off-loading the logs from the trucks, pilings for tying up the log rafts, and a concrete support.
