Fees and Regulations

  • Information kiosk, restrooms
  • East section of Gibbons Creek Wildlife Art Trail closed from October 1st to April 30th.
  • Dogs, bikes, and horses are not permitted on Mountain View and Gibbons Creek trails.
  • The River Trail along the Columbia River levee is multi-use.

Driving Directions

Drive I-205 north to Exit 27 for Vancouver and Camas.

Keep left for Camas and after 0.8 miles, merge with Highway 14E.

Drive 10.6 miles on Highway 14, keeping straight through two traffic circles in Washougal.

From the second traffic circle, it's 0.8 miles on Highway 14 to the right turn into the parking area at the Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

NOTE: This parking area can easily fill up on weekends and holidays throughout the year. An alternative place to park is the Captain William Clark Park Trailhead further west. You can hike into the refuge along the Columbia River Dike from there.
