Spruce Run Lake

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Spruce Run Lake in winter (bobcat)

Description

Spruce Run Lake is a small, shallow lake in the Clatsop State Forest. The lake was formed when landslides dammed Spruce Run Creek where it runs through a defile. This is probably a recurring event. The lake surface expands during the rainy season but most of the year, you will see a log-filled pond backed by a marshy expanse.

There is no fishing here: fishermen gravitate to larger Lost Lake to the north. This is a quiet spot, reached by a trail from the Henry Rierson Spruce Run Campground.
