Siltcoos River Mouth

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Nearing the mouth of the Siltcoos, Waxmyrtle Beach (bobcat)

Description

The location of the mouth of the Siltcoos River changes with the seasons. In summer and early fall, the river can usually be forded at its mouth, but at other seasons, the channel may be too deep to simply walk across.

The mouth of the Siltcoos is in the middle of a snowy plover nesting area, so access is restricted from March 15th to September 15th. For these six months, no dogs are permitted on the beach, and you must stay on the Waxmyrtle Beach Trail and the wet sand portion of the beach.
