Shining Lake

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The shore of Shining Lake (bobcat)

Description

Shining Lake lies clear and sparkling on the north slope of Indian Ridge. Those with rugged vehicles used to be able to drive here and camp at the forest camp on the rim above the lake. Now, it's a hike along the road in a new wilderness area. There's a campsite where the trail reaches the lake and a use trail that circumnavigates it. There's excellent trout fishing here and a talus slope backdrop that blazes brilliantly with vine maple in the fall.
