Sand Island Viewpoint

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Sand Island and a piece of the Columbia River in early March (Steve Hart)
Young eagle (Steve Hart)

Description

This is a great spot on a quiet backwater of the Columbia to watch wildlife. You might see deer, herons and all sorts of migratory waterfowl. There's a bald eagle with home near here and sea lions are not uncommon during fish runs. There's a great view of Angel's Rest and the view extends to Hamilton Mountain.
