Drop 0.5 miles to a junction and keep left on the paved road for the Trillium Lake Campground.
Go 1.2 miles, passing both the Trillium Lake Campground and Day Use Area, and turn left onto FR 2656 for the Salmon River Trail #742.
After 1.1 miles, keep left at a junction.
In 0.1 miles, bear right at a Y junction.
After 0.7 miles, go right on FR 2656-309.
It’s another 2.0 miles to the Salmon River East Trailhead on the right. The road also dead ends just beyond this, so you can park at the berm if the trailhead is full (very unlikely).
