Pioneer Ford Campground

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Contents

Description

Pioneer Ford is a semi-developed campground - drinking water, outhouses, garbage pickup, RVs and tents.

In the winter the campground is gated closed. You can still walk in and use the outhouses.

In the summer it gets busy, but you can make reservations at recreation.gov.

Driving Directions

From Portland, drive south on I-5 for 38 miles. Drive east on Highway 22 for 80 miles. Drive west on Highway 20 for 16 miles (10 miles short of Sisters). There's a sign saying "Camp Sherman" to the left. Take this road (Forest Service Road 14) 12.5 miles. Don't turn at the "Camp Sherman" signs. It's paved two lane the whole way.

Take a left at the "Pioneer Ford Campground" sign.
