Pine Creek Shelter

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The Pine Creek Shelter (bobcat)

Description

This is the only shelter remaining on the slopes of Mount Saint Helens. It was constructed in 1921-22 and restored in the early 1990s. Formerly known as the Jackpine Shelter (Jack pines do not exist in the area), the structure is open on its west side. The creek near the shelter runs dry in the summer.
