Hikes starting here

Driving Directions

Drive I-84 west and take Exit 64 for Highway 35, White Salmon, and Government Camp.

After exiting, turn left on Button Bridge Road and drive 1.1 miles across the Hood River Bridge, paying the $1 toll. Make a left here on 14W for Stevenson and Vancouver.

Drive 1.5 miles and make a right on 141 Alt. for Trout Lake and the Mt. Adams Recreation Area.

This road winds up along the White Salmon River for 2.2 miles to the junction with Highway 141. Turn left here for BZ Corner, Trout Lake and Glenwood.

Drive 19.2 miles to a fork in the road at Trout Lake.

Keep left here on 141 and drive 1.8 miles past the ranger station to make a right turn onto paved Trout Lake Creek Road, which becomes FR 88.

Wind up for 12.4 miles and then turn off to the left at a ‘Historic Site’ sign.

  • $1 toll each way at the Hood River Bridge
