Oval Lake

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Oval Lake from its sign (bobcat)

Description

This small, shallow lake is just off the Fret Creek Trail, two miles up from the trailhead, and nestles in shady montane woodland below the ramparts of Palisade Point. The shores are boggy with sedge growth, but there are a couple of campsites here, worthy bases for day hikes to Flag Point, Lookout Mountain, and the Badger Creek valley. Mosquitoes abound early in the summer!
