From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Needle Rock from the Tumble Ridge Trail (bobcat)

Description

Needle Rock is a crumbly andesite plug of the Old Cascades just south of the Tumble Ridge Trail as it nears Dome Rock. The spire is about 150 feet high and occasionally attracts rock climbers. There are no unobstructed views of Needle Rock from the Tumble Ridge Trail or from Dome Rock.
